About Us

our mission

In the United States alone, nearly 40% of the food supply is wasted each year.

The mission of Musically Fed is to mobilize the music industry in the fight against hunger.

We work with artists, promoters, management and venues nationwide to donate unused backstage meals to community organizations that feed the homeless, hungry and food insecure. Musically Fed identifies the opportunities, procures the resources, and coordinates all aspects of food handling, transport, and distribution. Our daily goal is to make it easy for promoters and performers to leave each city they visit with a lasting positive impact.

Over the past five years, our Phoenix-based non-profit has provided meals to thousands in need across America. Your support enables us to grow.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I started Musically Fed in honor of my husband who was a Vietnam veteran. I truly didn’t understand the meaning of that until his sudden passing.

In reaching out to other Vietnam vets in Phoenix, I learned that many of them were in need. Those who live on the street don’t eat on a regular basis, and what they do eat isn’t necessarily healthy. Many local organizations were – and still are – struggling to help.

Because I’ve worked in the music business for the past 30 years, I decided to see if I could put together a viable program that would re purpose unused backstage catering from concerts and festivals, that would serve agencies that are comprised of at least 50% veterans. In 2016 – thanks to Jake Berry, Terry Burke from Live Nation, Mitch Katz of Arizona Catering, Ralph Marchetta the GM of Talking Stick Arena, and the members & crew of U2 – our first effort enabled us to provide over 300 meals to outreach programs in our community.

Two weeks later, the Louis Messina Group, Kenny Chesney, and Tour Cats became believers and made us their tour partners. Through their generosity, we learned how to implement our mission in cities across the nation.

In 2016, two amazing organizations – The Zac Brown Band and Fleetwood Mac – invited us on their national tours to feed the homeless, hungry and food insecure throughout America.

Our growth has been nothing short of miraculous, and I am so proud of our colleagues in the music business & our teams of volunteers for making a difference. We hope it now inspires the rest of the entertainment industry – including the fans – to get involved.
